Cute Retro Valentine’s Day Ideas

Hosting a Valentine’s Day party for your friends or your kids? We have a cute retro Valentine’s Day theme based on checkered tablecloths used for picnics, also known as gingham. Valentine’s Day is traditionally associated with reds and pinks, so we wanted to use that color scheme without going overboard on the red. Retro is a really popular party event theme and if you’re not willing to go full Mrs. Beaver with the makeup and hair, then we think our retro gingham Valentine’s Day party idea is the perfect solution. You can create the perfect tablescape for an outdoor or indoor party, using a simple red and white checkered tablecloth,  a wicker picnic basket to house all your utensils, favors, drinks, baked goods, a couple triangle flag banners, and a swipe of red lipstick–and voila! Pinterest. Are you as obsessed as we are?! We could get lost pinning and repinning photos onto our inspiration boards all day! For those who haven’t discovered this wonderful time-waster/inspiring website, Pinterest allows users to “pin” photos around the internet onto a virtual inspiration board. Photos can come from any website except for Facebook/email. If you can’t pin a photo using the company’s app, Pinterest will give you the option of uploading photos, too. It’s a great way for people to socialize and gather inspiration from other users. People use Pinterest to find new ideas for home decor, arts and crafts, recipes, and fashion trends. The couple, Lorena and Ricardo, had a beautiful wedding in Oaxaca, Mexico, Lorena’s city of birth. Real Wedding: Persian Glamour

Kamran and Leila are a really stunning couple with an impeccable sense of style. Their wedding embodied both Persian traditions along with a romantic old Hollywood feel. If we may be bold to say, Leila has all the poise and grace of a Hollywood starlet, like Grace Kelly! Their ceremony had a sofreh, which is an elaborate floor spread with food and decorations, and they hired a band to play at their wedding as well. The rich jewel tones in the ceremony were offset by the romantic pale pink, green, and white color scheme of the reception. It was a very elegant affair and we loved working with Kamran and Leila to make their special day come to life.
