{Invitation, Tangerine DrinkEarrings, Chevron Rug, Dress, Cookies, Pillow}

Orange is a hot color for this season’s fashion trends! Although we’ve always been partial to this color, we just can’t get over how tangerine and coral are everywhere. We put together this cute inspiration board for you to see how you can use different shades of orange, tangerine, and coral in your fashion wardrobe and wedding theme. Gone are the days of associating orange with Halloween, and hello to vibrant, lush shades of salmon, apricot, and grapefruit!

It’s easy to mix this color into your home decor, accessories, and wedding details. We especially love the rug–orange and chevron stripes, two of the hottest trends we’re spotting for 2012.

Spring Trend Must Have: Picnic Baskets!

Page_Under_Construction

With the weather warming up, we’re already dreaming about spring trends and colors! A must-have accessory that every stylish trendsetter should have this spring 2012 is a cute picnic basket to take out on those sunny days at the park or beach. We’ve always wanted a picnic basket since we were a young girl in tutu, and now would be the perfect time to get one. Here are our favorite pics for stylish, retro-inspired, and affordable picnic baskets.

1. Chateau Medley 2. Sutherland 3. Picnic Cooler 4. Household Essentials  5. Piccadilly Willow  6. Laura Ashley

Option #3 is great for those last minute picnic adventures and easy to transport, while Option #1 or #4 would be the perfect touch to a romantic sunset getaway with your main squeeze. We love the unique shapes that Option #2 and #6 come in! A heart shaped picnic basket is different and would be so cute to carry around. Option #5 is an adorable classic picnic basket–awesome for a retro photoshoot or day in the sun!

New York Fashion Week: Naeem Khan Fall 2012

cultures-latin-american

New York Fashion Week is here! One of the designers we had our eye on is Naeem Khan, a high end designer from India. Infusing ethnic embroidering with intricate beading, Khan’s designs can be seen on celebrities like the First Lady Michelle Obama and Padma Lakshmi. Naeem Khan’s Fall 2012 collection colors were heavy on metal accents like silver, gunmetal, and gold. Using his native country of India as inspiration, Khan created sophisticated and feminine designs fit for the fashion forward, modern woman.

Fun fact: Naeem Khan fashion is sold at Neiman Marcus.

Jewel-Like Henna Cupcakes and Desserts

We ran across these scrumptious and gorgeous hand-crafted baked goods by Creme Delicious, a New York based cake boutique. They describe each cake as a, “unique piece of art and an elegant edible jewel which can mark any occasion special.” The sugary works of art resemble the intricate designs of henna tattoos, a sort of body art that can be adorned by Indian brides at Indian weddings. The edible henna cakes take up to 30 minutes to design each (wow!) and are available in four flavors (chocolate, vanilla, green tea, and red velvet). As of now, Creme Delicious offers the cakes in only two options: heart or square, but perhaps they will open up the options in the future. Our favorite part of the ordering process? Deciding what colors to decorate the cakes with! Currently, these jewel-like cakes come in red, pink, orange (our favorite color!), black, white, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

Did we mention Oprah Magazine featured these edible masterpieces? Pretty legit in our book!
