Happy miércoles (“Wednesday” in Spanish!), and we have a refreshing cocktail for you inspired by this weekend’s Cinco de Mayo celebrations! Instead of margaritas, we found the perfect summer, tequila-infused drink to host at your next fiesta or reception. Thank you to the mixologists over at Jose Cuervo for creating the “Platino Fresco,” which we Google Translated to mean “Platinum Fresh.”
Ingredients
1 oz Jose Cuervo Platino™
1/2 oz. Elderflower liqueur
Cucumber slices
Mint leaves
Pink Grapefruit juice
Directions
Muddle mint with cucumber slices.
In a cocktail shaker combine Jose Cuervo Platino and elderflower liqueur. Shake with ice and strain into rocks glass where mint and cucumber was muddled. Add ice and top off with pink grapefruit juice.

Orange is a hot color for this season’s fashion trends! Although we’ve always been partial to this color, we just can’t get over how tangerine and coral are everywhere. We put together this cute inspiration board for you to see how you can use different shades of orange, tangerine, and coral in your fashion wardrobe and wedding theme. Gone are the days of associating orange with Halloween, and hello to vibrant, lush shades of salmon, apricot, and grapefruit!
It’s easy to mix this color into your home decor, accessories, and wedding details. We especially love the rug–orange and chevron stripes, two of the hottest trends we’re spotting for 2012.

Hosting a Valentine’s Day party for your friends or your kids? We have a cute retro Valentine’s Day theme based on checkered tablecloths used for picnics, also known as gingham. Valentine’s Day is traditionally associated with reds and pinks, so we wanted to use that color scheme without going overboard on the red. Retro is a really popular party event theme and if you’re not willing to go full Mrs. Beaver with the makeup and hair, then we think our retro gingham Valentine’s Day party idea is the perfect solution. You can create the perfect tablescape for an outdoor or indoor party, using a simple red and white checkered tablecloth, a wicker picnic basket to house all your utensils, favors, drinks, baked goods, a couple triangle flag banners, and a swipe of red lipstick–and voila! You’re the perfect hostess
Hope this board inspires you with some ideas or crafty projects for your next event.
Our inspiration boards gives you an idea of what we’re envisioning: a relaxed, cute Valentine’s Day shindig that’s all about having fun with red gingham details. Kind of like a picnic on crack haha

The 46th Superbowl is taking place on February 5, 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN with the New England Patriots taking on the New York Giants. We found some great ideas to use if you’re hosting a football or Superbowl party at your home. Just because the sport has been traditionally male dominated doesn’t mean you can’t put a creative and festive twist on a Superbowl party!

We are totally digging the idea of football themed snacks! They’re fairly easy to make, and great finger foods. Chicken fingers, buffalo bites, french fries, chicken wings, quesadillas, salami and cheese crackers, deviled eggs, and our favorite: chili in mason jars!
