Fashion Friday: Monique Lhuillier Fall 2012 Bridal

The talented Monique Lhuillier has done it again with her Fall 2012 bridal collection! The great juxtaposition of tulle against the chantilly lace and orchidea satin is executed perfectly. With the fall collection already released, the designs work for both spring and fall brides because most of her designs embody a light, effervescent essence that works for the vibe of spring weddings. One of the favorites is the high-low skirt of the organza and chantilly lace dresses! Monique Lhuillier designs are sold at boutiques like M Bride where they will be hosting a trunk show this Friday and Saturday, February 24-25, 2012.

Wedding Wednesday: Grammy Glam

Did you see the 2012 Grammy’s this last Sunday or at least have it dvr’d? One word: ADELE. She stole the show with her voice!

Back to the point of this blog! We noticed some wedding inspired fashion on the red carpet that night and wanted to share it with you guys.  Color is key to this season’s bridal fashion trends–from light blue to blush pink, anything goes if you’re a modern, fashionably forward type of bride. Can you imagine getting married in Taylor Swift’s dress by Zuhair Murad or walking down the aisle in Katy Perry’s Elie Saab gown (maybe in another color if blue is too much for you)? Corinne Bailey Rae’s Grammy dress by Christian Siriano works for the romantic/gothic/ fashion forward bride as is, but would be great for traditional brides if the dress came in white or ivory. Miranda Lambert’s dress is actually by Atelier Povani, a couture bridal house!

Her resort collection for 2012 is full of bright, tropical colors that are trendy for the season and effervescent materials. You can wear Reem Acra to a gala, wedding, or as a bridesmaid’s gown. There’s just something so classy and mysterious about black and gold together.  Sometimes brides shy away from incorporating black into their wedding, but there are ways to highlight black and gold without drowning your guests in darkness.
