Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner! This spirited holiday is a celebration of Mexico’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla. While just a regional holiday in Mexico, it has been embraced mostly in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage.
We’ve put together an inspiration board to demonstrate just a few ways you can mix in some of that festive spirit into your own wedding. From custom-made papel picado (intricately cut banners) to Margarita signature drinks to cheerful peasant-style bridesmaids dresses, the possibilities are boundless. All you need is a dash of creativity and a splash of color!
Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Last week, our Creative Manager, Buu, had the amazing opportunity to attend WIPA – Wedding Industry Professionals Association marketing seminar at the breathtaking Pelican Hills Resort in Newport Beach, CA. Not only were we able to pick up great tips on how to better reach more beautiful brides (like yourself!), but we were treated to lush scenery, and delicious gourmet that went beyond our expectations. If you’re considering a destination wedding in Orange County or Newport Beach, we highly recommend considering the Pelican Hills Resort!
To give you an idea of how classy the day was, here are snapshots of the WIPA seminar. The theme was an elegant vintage-esque style that paired blush tones like peach and pink, with delicate and clean decor.
Our favorite part of the day? Entering the ballroom and being greeted with this stunner! A hanging wedding cake chandelier! So gorgeous
The florist who created this is Nisie’s Enchanted Florist, while Pelican Hills Resort provided the wedding cake.
We think the elegant vintage look and style would make for a lovely wedding or bridal shower theme. Hope this inspires you!

We ran across these scrumptious and gorgeous hand-crafted baked goods by Creme Delicious, a New York based cake boutique. They describe each cake as a, “unique piece of art and an elegant edible jewel which can mark any occasion special.” The sugary works of art resemble the intricate designs of henna tattoos, a sort of body art that can be adorned by Indian brides at Indian weddings. The edible henna cakes take up to 30 minutes to design each (wow!) and are available in four flavors (chocolate, vanilla, green tea, and red velvet). As of now, Creme Delicious offers the cakes in only two options: heart or square, but perhaps they will open up the options in the future. Our favorite part of the ordering process? Deciding what colors to decorate the cakes with! Currently, these jewel-like cakes come in red, pink, orange (our favorite color!), black, white, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
Did we mention Oprah Magazine featured these edible masterpieces? Pretty legit in our book!
